- 6 to 8 apples, pared and sliced
- brown sugar
- cinnamon
- nutmeg (optional)
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- walnuts, chopped (optional)
Directions

1Place apples in greased pan.

2Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

3Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add egg and mix well.

4Add walnuts, if desired.

5Sprinkle crumb mixture over apples.

6Combine butter and lemon juice and pour over crumbs.

7Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.

8Bake at 300° for 30 to 45 minutes.
