  • 1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix
  • 24 large sticks green gum
  • 1 jar (3.25 oz.) red sprinkles
  • 1 container (16 oz.) ready-to-spread chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
  • 24 pretzel sticks

    Heat oven to 350F.

    Prepare cake batter and bake as directed on package for 24 cupcakes; cool completely.

    Meanwhile, use kitchen shears to cut 2 leaf shapes from each stick of gum.

    Empty sprinkles into small bowl.

    Spoon frosting into medium bowl.

    Add COOL WHIP; whisk until blended.

    Spread onto cupcakes.

    Dip tops, 1 at a time, into sprinkles.

    Decorate with pretzels and gum pieces to resemble apples as shown in photo.
