Apple Dumplings

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 can crescent rolls (I use angel biscuits)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2/3 c. white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • raisins (optional)
  • 3/4 c. orange juice (I have used cranberry and pineapple juice)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Peel and core apples.

    Cut each apple into 8 equal pieces.

    Open rolls and lay out flat.
  5. 5
    You will have 8 pieces.

    Cut each piece longways in half, making 16 pieces. Melt butter in a 10-inch pan.

    Roll apple slices in dough pieces, starting with narrowest end.

    Lay in pan, seam side down. Sprinkle sugar, which has been mixed with cinnamon, over wrapped apples.

    Toss in some raisins, if desired.

    Pour orange juice over all, then bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes.
