Apple Dumplings

  • 1 can crescent rolls (makes 8 rolls)
  • 1 granny smith apple
  • 1/2 stick butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup mountain dew

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350

    Core & peel apple.

    Cut into 8 wedges
  4. 4
    Roll each apple wedge in crescent dough, sealing edges.

    Place in 8x8 ungreased cake pan
  6. 6
    In small bowl, combine butter, sugar and cinnamon
  7. 7
    Spoon sugar mixture over dumplings
  8. 8
    Pour mountain dew on top of dumplings (gently, to not wash off sugar)

    Bake on middle rack, uncovered, for 45 minutes
  10. 10
    Let sit for 5 minutes before serving

    * I use the sugary liquid on bottom of pan to top each dumpling

    * I serve my dumplings warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream!
