  • 2 c. applesauce
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar

Directions

    Pour applesauce into a bowl and add rind and nutmeg.

    Beat egg whites until frothy with cream of tartar.

    Slowly add brown sugar and beat until whites peak.

    Add 1/3 egg whites to applesauce, folding in slowly, then fold in remainder.
