- 3 to 4 apples, peeled and cored
- 1 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2/3 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
Directions

1Sift together the flour, sugar and salt.

2Combine and stir egg, milk and butter into dry ingredients just until smooth; don't overbeat.

3Slice apples into rings and dip into batter one at a time.

4Heat 1 inch of oil to 375°.

5Fry fritters 3 minutes or until brown, turning once.

6Drain on paper towels.

7Serve hot, sprinkled with powdered sugar or maple syrup.
