  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of cinnamon and mace
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped apples (about 2 to 3 small)
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts

Directions

    Mix and sift first 6 ingredients.

    Stir in unbeaten eggs and vanilla. Fold in apples and walnuts.

    Turn into well greased 9-inch pie plate.

    Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes until brown and crusty.

    Serve warm or cold with topping or ice cream.
