- 1/2 c. regular sugar
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 8 c. sliced tart cooking apples
- 2 Tbsp. oleo or butter
- Pastry for pie (recipe follows)
Directions

1Heat oven to 375°.

2Mix sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in large bowl.

3Stir in apples.

4Put into ungreased 2-quart casserole.

5Dot with oleo.

6Cover apples with pastry, placing inside of dish.

7Bake 30 minutes.

8Cut crust into small pieces into apple filling.

9Bake longer until apples are tender and pieces of crust are golden.

10Serve warm.
