Apple-Picking Apple Cake

Ingredients

• small amount oil, butter or shortening to grease the pan
• small amount sugar for the pan
• 6 apples, any variety
• 1 rounded tablespoon cinnamon
• 1-1/3 cups white sugar, separated
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 3 cups all purpose unbleached flour
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 4 eggs
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 1/3 cup orange juice
