  • 6 to 7 c. sliced apples
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • double pie crust recipe

    Pare, core and slice the apples.

    Line a 9-inch pie pan with a pie crust.

    Place a layer of apples over the bottom.
  4. 4
    Sprinkle with a mixture of the sugar, cinnamon and salt.

    Add top sheet of pastry and cut slits into it to allow for escape of steam. Flute edges. Bake in a 425° oven for about 50 minutes or until apples are tender and crust a golden brown.
