  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 1 box (about 18 Oz. Size) Yellow Cake Mix
  • Additional Required Ingredients Specified In Mix Package (typically Water, Eggs And Oil)
  • 5 whole Apples, Peeled And Sliced In Slices
  • 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cups Butter, Slightly Softened

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Combine all of the ingredients for the boxed cake mix (you'll typically need water, eggs, and oil, as directed in mix package) and set aside.

    Combine apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl and toss to coat. Make sure apple slices are covered and sugar is dissolved.

    For the topping, combine the flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl, then slowly incorporate the slightly softened butter until it forms a crumble.

    Pour cake batter into a greased baking pan, then evenly top with apple slices. Sprinkle on the topping and bake for 35-40 minutes. Your kitchen will smell amazing by now.
