- 1 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. chopped, peeled apples
- 1/3 c. chopped walnuts
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. lemon peel (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- pie pastry shell for double-crust pie
Directions

1Put the apples, walnuts, brown sugar, raisins, flour, lemon peel and cinnamon into a bowl.

2Mix these together.

3Then roll with a rolling pin; roll pastry to 1/8-inch thickness.

4Cut into 5-inch circles.

5Spoon 1/4 cup of apple mixture into center of circle.

6Moisten edges of pastry with few drops of water.

7Fold pastry and trim the edges with a fork.

8Place on greased cookie sheet.

9Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then turn down heat to 400° and bake 10 more minutes.

10Brush each with milk and the sugar. Take out of oven.

11Then put back into the oven for 5 minutes.
