Apple Salad

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 2 tsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip
  • 1 c. cherries
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 4 large apples, diced with peeling

Directions

    Sift flour and sugar.

    Mix in pineapple with juice.

    Cook until thick (4 to 5 minutes).

    Add margarine or butter; let cool completely.

    Chop apples, one at a time; add to mixture.

    Add a little Cool Whip to mixture.

    Put in dish.

    Cover with remaining Cool Whip; top with nuts and cherries.

    You can put half of the nuts in mixture and the other half on top.

    Cool 24 hours.
