  • 4 cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut up
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash of salt
  • pastry (enough for two-crust pie)

Directions

    Put apples in a saucepan with sugar, cinnamon and salt.

    Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the consistency of chunky applesauce. Cool to room temperature.

    Makes two cups.
