- vegetable oil for frying
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- confectioners sugar

6apple mixture over half of each pastry round; fold other half evenly over filling. Press around edges with fork to seal.

7Pour enough oil into deep fat fryer or skillet to make 1 inch;

9Fry turnovers in hot oil, turning often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden; drain well
