  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
  • confectioners sugar

    with brown sugar and allspice in a medium-size bowl.

    apple mixture over half of each pastry round; fold other half evenly over filling. Press around edges with fork to seal.

    Pour enough oil into deep fat fryer or skillet to make 1 inch;

    Fry turnovers in hot oil, turning often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden; drain well
