Apple-Walnut Ring

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. mace
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. sliced apples
  • 2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar together in large bowl.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    In small bowl, stir together the sifted flour, baking soda, mace and cinnamon.

    Add flour mixture to butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla, sliced apples and finally the chopped nuts. Grease and flour a Bundt pan.

    Preheat oven to 325°.

    Bake for 90 minutes (1 1/2 hours).

    Let cake cool in pan 10 minutes.

    Shake out onto rack and cool.
