- 1 lemon
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 cup apple juice, cider, or water
- Honey, brown sugar, or maple syrup to taste
Directions

1Quarter the apples and the lemon.

2Place in a heavy pot with cinnamon sticks.

3Add apple juice, cider, or water.

4Cover, bring to a boil, and them simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally to turn the apples and making sure they do not stick.

5You may want to add some liquid.

6Cook about 20 minutes, or until the apples are soft.

7Remove cinnamon sticks.

8Put the sauce through a food mill and adjust seasoning by adding honey, brown sugar, or maple syrup to taste.
