  • 1 c. butter
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 (303) cans applesauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 c. plain flour
  • 3 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 box raisins
  • 1 box (8 oz.) dates
  • 4 c. pecans
  • 1/3 c. wine
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. allspice

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar well, add eggs then applesauce.
  2. 2
    Mix the flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice.

    Use some of this to dredge the raisins, nuts and dates.

    Add flour and other ingredients and mix well.
  5. 5
    Bake 3 loaf pans or 2 large tube pans at 275° about 2 hour.
