  • 2 1/2 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 4 c. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa (optional)
  • 1 box raisins

    Stir baking soda into applesauce.

    Mix all ingredients together well.

    Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 2 1/2 hours in a 300° oven.
