Applesauce Spice Cake

Name: Applesauce Spice Cake
Ingredients: 1/2 c. Wesson oil; 3/4 c. sugar; 1 egg; 2 c. sifted cake flour; 1 tsp. baking soda; 1/2 tsp. ground cloves; 1 heaping tsp. cinnamon; 1 c. applesauce; 2 bananas, mashed (optional); 1/2 c. chopped pecans; 1/2 c. chopped dates and/or 1/2 c. raisins

1/2 c. Wesson oil
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 heaping tsp. cinnamon
1 c. applesauce
2 bananas, mashed (optional)
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. chopped dates and/or 1/2 c. raisins

Blend oil and sugar.

Add egg and mix well.

Sift together cake flour, soda, cloves and cinnamon.

Add dry mixture alternately with applesauce and bananas to oil and sugar and egg mixture.

Stir in nuts, dates and raisins.

Batter will be stiff. Pour into greased cake or loaf pan.

Bake in 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes.
