  • 1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • confectioners sugar

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture.
  3. 3
    Sift flour with baking soda and spices.
  4. 4
    Beat in flour mixture alternately with applesauce.

    Add raisins and nuts.

    Bake 25 to 30 minutes in 350° oven or until tester comes out clean. Cool completely.

    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar before serving.
