Ingredients
- 6 oz. pkg. dried apricots
- 2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted then measured
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 3 Tbsp. softened butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. apricot liquid
- 1/3 c. milk
Directions

1Wash apricots, cover with water and bring to a boil.

2Cook 5 minutes, then drain, saving liquid.

3Chop apricots very fine and set aside.

4Add salt and baking soda to sifted flour and sift again.

5Cream butter and sugar; stir in beaten egg.

6Alternate, adding flour mixture to sugar mixture with milk and apricot liquid. Fold in chopped apricots.

7Bake in preheated 350° oven in a wax paper lined loaf pan about 50 minutes.

8Will make 1 large loaf or 2 medium loaves.

9Test with toothpick in center to be sure it is well done before removing from oven.
