  • 1 lb. pinto beans
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (6 oz.) tomato puree
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin

Directions

    Soak dry beans in water overnight.

    Save ground beef and drain off excess fat.

    Add chopped onion, tomato puree and the soaked beans.

    Mix chili powder and cumin.

    Add to bean mixture.

    Bring to a boil; turn down heat and cook slowly until onion and beans are tender, adding water if needed, and salt to taste.
