Asparagus Gratin (Brennan) Recipe

- Baguette slices Garlic cloves Extra virgin olive oil Steamed asparagus spears Salt Pepper Thyme Bechamel sauce Butter Fine breadcrumbs Grated parmesan cheese
Directions

1Line a gratin dish with a layer of toasted, garlic- rubbed baguette slices.

2Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil.

3Top with steamed asparagus spears seasoned with salt, pepper and thyme.

4Pour bechamel sauce over all and top with dots of butter, fine breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.

5Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 min, or possibly till the top is golden brown and bubbly.

6Finish under a broiler if you like.
