Asparagus Ham Rolls

- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 14 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups skim milk
- 12 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 14 teaspoon white pepper
- 24 stalks fresh asparagus or 24 stalks frozen asparagus
- 12 lb fully cooked ham, cut in 8 thin slices
- 14 cup soft breadcrumbs
Directions

1In a saucepan, melt margarine; stir in flour and cook until thick.

2Gradually stir in milk and cook until bubbly and thickened.

3Stir in cheese and pepper.

4Remove from heat.

5Place three asparagus stalks on each ham slice.

6Roll up; secure with toothpick if necessary.

7Place in an ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan, cover with cheese sauce.

8Sprinkle with crumbs.

9Bake, uncovered at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
