- 1 egg
- 1 c. heated Carnation milk
- 3/4 c. whole wheat cracker crumbs
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 tsp. minced onion
- 2 c. fresh cooked asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Beat the egg slightly.

2Add the heated milk gradually and mix. Add the cracker crumbs, melted butter and onion.

3Let stand for a few minutes until the crumbs absorb some of the liquid.

4Fold the asparagus into the mixture carefully and season with salt and pepper.

5Pour into a buttered loaf pan and bake in a 350° oven for 30 minutes.

6Serve from the dish.

7Asparagus Loaf may be served with a cream sauce and garnished with crisp strips of bacon.
