- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 3 to 4 c. water
- 1 c. cut-up carrots (or more)
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1 c. cubed potatoes (or more)
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. bottled brown bouquet sauce
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/8 tsp. basil
- 6 tomatoes, peeled and chopped or 28 oz. canned tomatoes with juice
Directions

1In a large pot, cook ground beef; drain fat.

2Cook onions with meat until tender.

3Stir in remaining ingredients; heat to boiling.

4Cover, reduce heat and simmer until tender.
