- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/4 c. milk, scalded
- 2 yeast cakes
- 5 c. flour
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. grated orange rind
- 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 1/2 c. almonds, chopped
- 1 c. raisins
Directions

1Scald milk; pour over sugar and butter.

2Cool.

3Dissolve yeast with a little of warm mixture and add remaining milk mixture.

4Add 1/2 of the flour and beat well.

5Add salt to eggs and beat until thick.

6Add to mixture and mix well.

7Add remaining ingredients. Knead for 15 minutes.

8Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Place in well-buttered tube pan, sprinkled with fine bread crumbs, and bake for 45 minutes in 350° oven.
