- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1In large mixer bowl, combine yeast and 1 3/4 cups of the flour. Combine water, sugar and salt.

2Add to yeast mixture.

3Beat at low speed of mixer.

4Beat 3 minutes by hand.

5Stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough.

6Turn out on floured surface and knead until smooth, 5 to 8 minutes.

7Cover; let rest 15 minutes.

8Cut into 12 portions.

9Shape into small balls.

10Punch a hole in center of each with a floured finger, working each bagel into shape. Cover; let rise 20 minutes.
