  • 4 to 6 cans pork and beans
  • 1/4 small bell pepper, chopped finely
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped finely
  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 1/2 c. or more brown sugar
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/3 to 1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • bacon strips

    Add each ingredient and mix well.

    Place uncooked bacon strips across the top of bean dish.

    Pour into 9 x 13-inch glass Pyrex dish.

    Place in oven at 425°.

    Cook for 45 to 55 minutes.

    After baking, turn broiler in oven on to finish browning action.
