  • 1 qt. navy beans
  • 1/2 lb. sliced bacon
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ground mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 onion
  • pepper

Directions

    Soak beans overnight.

    Scald in soda water; drain and add fresh water.

    Cook 15 minutes.

    Put in baking dish; add other ingredients.

    Cover with water.

    Bake for 4 to 5 hours at 350°. Remove cover last half hour.
