Ingredients

  • 3 c. dry navy or pinto beans
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. chili sauce
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. catsup
  • 3/4 lb. slab bacon, cut into pieces
  • 3/4 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. dark molasses
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. sorghum
  • 1 small onion, cut up fine

Directions

    Cover the beans with cold water; soak overnight.

    In the morning, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

    Put into a bean pot or large Dutch oven and completely cover the beans with water.

    Bake in a 325° oven with the cover on for several hours until beans are done.
