Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 c. strong coffee
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cans beans (1 lb. each)
  • 6 slices bacon, cut in small pieces

    In saucepan, mix the brown sugar, vinegar, dry mustard, salt and

    Simmer 5 minutes.

    In a 12-inch casserole, layer the beans, sliced onion and half of the sauce.

    Repeat. Top with bacon.

    Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

    Beans will keep moist and warm for several hours if covered with foil and left in a 200° oven.
