  • 2 c. beans
  • 5 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. onions
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 -1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 lb. slab bacon

Directions

    Wash and sort beans, soak in water overnight.

    The following morning, simmer the beans 1 hour.

    Mix together salt, onions, dry mustard, molasses, ketchup and add to beans.

    Bake at 250° for 6 to 7 hours.

    Put bacon on top.

    Water may have to be added during baking.

    Serves 6 - 8 people.
