Baked Clam Spread

Ingredients

  • 2 small cans minced clams
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Put clams and lemon juice in saucepan and simmer 15 minutes. Drain clams and save liquid.

    In saucepan, put liquid from clams, butter and all ingredients except bread crumbs.

    Bring to a boil. Add clams and stir.

    Add bread crumbs and mix thoroughly.

    Empty saucepan into 1-quart baking dish and bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Let cool and serve warm on crackers.
