Baked Ginger Pears

- 8 canned pear halves (no sugar added; in natural juices)
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger or chopped crystallized ginger to taste
- 1/4 c. unsalted dry-roasted chopped pecans
- crystallized ginger for garnish
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Drain pears, reserving juice.

3Arrange pear halves close together in a baking dish, cut side up.

4Set aside.

5In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, lemon juice, ginger and pecans; mix well.

6Spoon into pear halves and sprinkle lightly with ginger.

7Pour reserved pear juice around pears to cover bottom of dish.

8Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
