  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. ground cloves
  • 2 Tbsp. powdered cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. dried mustard
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • peach pickle juice or apple cider

Directions

    Cut rind off ham.

    Combine dry ingredients and add enough juice to make a dough that can be rolled over fat.

    Cover part of ham with dough.

    Put in cold oven.

    Bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes per pound, 4 or 5 hours for a 15 pound ham, basting every 30 minutes.

    Take dough off and finish with brown sugar or any favorite way of browning ham.
