- 2 Tbsp. onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- pinch of oregano
- pinch of thyme
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 c. tomato juice
- 1 (1 lb.) pkg. lasagna noodles, cooked
- 1 lb. Swiss cheese
- 1 lb. Cheddar
- grated Parmesan
Directions

1Brown onion in shortening; add ground beef and simmer until beef changes color.

2Add salt, pepper, oregano, thyme and chili powder.

3Stir in tomato paste, tomato juice and catsup.

4Arrange alternate layers of meat sauce and noodles (noodles cooked) and cheese in a greased casserole.

5Sprinkle top with Parmesan.

6Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.

7Makes 8 to 12 servings.
