- 1 3/4 c. lentils
- 2 1/2 qt. water
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 c. chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 large carrots, thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. thin sliced celery
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 16 oz. can tomatoes, drained
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram
- 1/4 tsp. sage
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 8 oz. cheese
Directions

1Combine lentils, water and bay leaf in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, lower heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes.

2Drain. Put lentils in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
