  • 2 lbs small onion, peeled (or cut large ones)
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 14 cup sherry wine
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 18 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions

    Cook onion in boiling, salted water until just tender.

    Drain and arrange in shallow 1-1/2 quart baking dish.

    Combine cream, sherry, salt and pepper.

    Pour over onions; dot with butter and sprinkle with cheese.

    Cover and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.
