- 1 or 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 c. brown or white rice (raw)
- salt, pepper and oregano to taste
- 2 c. or 1 1/2 c. broth or bouillon
Directions

1Brown onion in butter.

2Add rice and seasonings, Cook and stir to brown rice lightly.

3Add broth.

4Place in 2-quart casserole and cover.

5Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until rice is fluffy.

6If desired add vegetables.

7Chop 1 to 2 cups vegetables such as green peppers, cabbage, celery and small amount of onions.

8Add water chestnuts if desired.
