  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes, drained
  • 1 c. toasted bread
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • onions, diced
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • chopped almonds (optional)

Directions

    Mix toasted bread into tomato pulp.

    Blend in remaining ingredients, except bread crumbs.

    Pour into buttered baking dish and cover with bread crumbs.

    Bake at 300° for 30 minutes.
