- 2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients with shortening and mix with a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture has a coarse cornmeal-like consistency.

2Stir in the milk, blending until all ingredients are together.

3Turn onto a lightly floured board.

4Pat out flat and fold over; repeat about 2 times.

5Pat out to desired thickness (about 1/2-inch) and cut into desired shapes.

6(This dough is very wet when trying to pat into shape, do not add additional flour.) Place in a well-greased baking dish.

7Bake in a 425° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

8Serve hot.

9Makes approximately 1 dozen medium size biscuits.
