- 2 c. sifted flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. milk
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in large mixing bowl.

2Cut shortening into flour mixture with 2 knives or a pastry blender, until mixture looks like meal.

3Add milk to flour mixture; stir quickly with fork just enough to make a soft ball. Put dough on lightly floured board or wax paper and knead 6 or 8 times, forming a ball.

4Roll dough 1/4-inch thick for crusty biscuits and 1/2-inch for soft biscuits.

5Cut with floured cutter.

6Bake at 425° to 450° for 12 to 15 minutes.
