- 2 1/2 lbs. walnuts or pecans, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 lbs. butter
- 2 lbs. fila
Directions

1Mix chopped nuts, cinnamon and brown sugar together.

2Grease a large 11 x 16 inch pan with melted butter.

3Place 6 fila in pan, brushing each with melted butter.

4Sprinkle with thin layer of nuts and cover with 3 fila, brushing each with melted butter. Alternate in this way until nuts and fila are used, topping with 6 butter fila.

5Cut pastry into small diamond shapes.

6Bake in slow oven - 300° - for 1 1/2 hours until lightly browned.

7Remove from oven and cool.

8Pour warm syrup over pastry.
