  • 2 lb. sweet butter, clarified
  • 2 lb. walnuts, chopped (not ground)
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Butter a 12 x 17 x 1-inch baking pan. Butter 8 to 10 sheets of phyllo for bottom crust.

    Sprinkle nuts (combined with sugar and cinnamon).

    Sprinkle nuts on every sheet or every two sheets. Top with 8 sheets. Refrigerate.

    Cut into diamonds. Bake at 350° for 60 minutes. (After 40 minutes, lower oven to 325° for remaining 20 minutes.)

    Pour cooled syrup over hot Baklava.
