Balsamic Figs With Blue Cheese

  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Brown Sugar (depends on taste - approx. 1 tablespoon to a cup of vinegar)
  • Fresh Figs, cut into quarters
  • Blue Cheese
  • Sourdough bread stick

Directions

    Gently heat balsamic vinegar and brown sugar until sugar has dissolved. Bring to a low simmer and add figs. Continue to cook on a gentle heat until the vinegar has reduced a little. Do not over cook.

    Turn off and cool. Slice the bread and brush with olive oil. Spread with blue cheese and top with drained figs.

    Put into a warm to hot oven until cheese has melted a little and bread is warmed through.

    Serve with a nice red wine
