- 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. mashed bananas
- 3 c. flour
- 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch).

3Mix sugar, shortening and egg thoroughly.

4Stir in milk and bananas. Blend dry ingredients and stir into cream mixture.

5Blend in nuts and pour into loaf pan.

6Bake 60 to 70 minutes or until toothpick stuck in center comes out clean.

7Cracks in top are normal.

8Cool before slicing.

9Good plain or with peanut butter icing.
