- 3 c. milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. all-purpose flour or 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 box vanilla wafers
- 6 ripe bananas
Directions

1Mix sugar and flour well to remove any lumps.

2Stir in milk and beaten egg yolks.

3Cook pudding over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

4Add vanilla flavoring.

5Layer pudding, wafers and bananas, making two layers.

6End with the pudding.

7Beat egg whites until stiff.

8Add 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon at a time until stiff but not dry.

9Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.

10Pour meringue over pudding, spreading to edge.

11Bake at 450° until meringue is golden brown.
