- 8 cups apples
- 12 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- 18 teaspoon nutmeg

1Peel, core, and slice apples thinly.

2In a medium size bowl, mix apples with flour, sugar, and spices until no more dry ingredients remain.

3Add more sugar to taste, depending on tartness of apples.

4At this point, the filling can be frozen in a zipper bag in a pie pan (to retain shape) to be used later.

5Put filling into prepared pie crust of your choice.

6Add top crust, making cut-outs or slashes for venting.

7Trim and crimp edges.

8Place a protective strip of aluminum foil around edge of crust.

9Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
